Raising awareness of Lupus is critical for making advances in the management, treatment and search for a cure. Our belief is simple, the more awareness there is the more funds that can be raised. More funds means more families can be helped, more support groups can be started and more research can be funded.
Our main goal of the family Fun day is to raise the level of Lupus awareness and our efforts have not gone unnoticed. In the spring of 2011 both prior to, and after our event, our families story was featured in several local newspapers. These article generated a good amount of feedback from the public which has lead to a new support group being formed in our local area.
Our efforts have also lead to us being asked by the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota to be their Ambassadors in 2011. We are honored to have this opportunity to help raise the level of awareness as well as funds for the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota. Through this we will participate in several fund raising events that the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota host throughout the year.

Recording our story at the
KFAN studios with Cory Cove
The first of these events was the KFAN Cory Cove's 24-hour On-Air Lupus Marathon. Our family recorded two brief segments about our "lupus story" that were aired NUMEROUS times during the 24 hour period. The President of the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota even recognized our efforts and plugged our Family Fun Day event in her interview during the telethon.
We hope to have many more opportunities present themselves to us so that we can continue to raise the level of awareness and make this "invisible" disease Visible!
